Regular Season Round 17: Szczecin - Anwil 80-86

Date: February 1, 2017
The game in Szczecin was also quite interesting. Third ranked Anwil (12-6) played at the court of 6th ranked Wilki Morskie (10-8). Anwil managed to secure a 6-point victory 86-80 on Wednesday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Wilki Morskie. Anwil made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game. The former international power forward Pawel Leonczyk (203-86) stepped up and scored 21 points for the winners and Serbian guard Nemanja Jaramaz (200-91, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). The former international swingman Pawel Kikowski (193-86) responded with 18 points and American forward Taylor Brown (200-89, college: Bradley, agency: Three Eye Sports) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Five Wilki Morskie players scored in double figures. Wilki Morskie's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Anwil. They maintain third place with 12-6 record having just three points less than leader Stelmet ZG. Loser Wilki Morskie dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. They share it with PGE Turow. Anwil will meet at home MKS Dabrowa Gornicza (#6) in the next round. Wilki Morskie will play against PGE Turow in Zgorzelec and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
