We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Belo Horizonte where 11th ranked Minas (7-10) was defeated by twelfth ranked SKY/Basquete (7-9) 66-62. SKY/Basquete forced 19 Minas turnovers. Minas was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for the former international point guard David Rossetto (180-93) who led his team to a victory with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international Luis Felipe Gruber (206-85) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American forward Drew Maynard (200-89, college: Rochester, MI) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 18 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Scott Rodgers (191-87, college: Drexel, agency: DTMones) added 14 points in the effort for Minas. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. SKY/Basquete moved-up to eleventh place. Minas at the other side dropped to the twelfth position with ten games lost. SKY/Basquete will play against league's leader Brasilia on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Minas will play against Universo/Vitoria (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
