Regular Season Round 23: BSEU-GrandPrint - Grodno-93 52-86

Premier League top team - Grodno-93 (20-1) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they crushed sixth ranked BSEU-GrandPrint (6-18) in Minsk 86-52. The game was mostly controlled by Grodno-93. BSEU-GrandPrint was better in third quarter 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding BSEU-GrandPrint to just 7 points in second quarter. Grodno-93 dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to BSEU-GrandPrint's 34. They outrebounded BSEU-GrandPrint 39-22 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Grodno-93 looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by BSEU-GrandPrint's players. Forward Kiryl Chumakov (197-95) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Ukrainian forward Ivan Kaliayev (200-87) contributed with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Four Grodno-93 players scored in double figures. Grodno-93's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Maksim Sazonau (202-96) answered with 10 points and 7 rebounds and guard Valentin Nazarov (185-97) added 9 points and 4 assists in the effort for BSEU-GrandPrint. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Grodno-93. They maintain first place with 20-1 record. Loser BSEU-GrandPrint keeps the sixth position with 18 games lost. Grodno-93's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Grodno Prinemanye.
