Regular Season Round 15: TTU - Tartu Ulikool 54-85

An interesting game for TU/Rock (14-2) which played road game in Tallinn against 4th placed TTU (8-6). First ranked TU/Rock had an easy win 85-54. The game without a history. TU/Rock led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to TTU's 28. They outrebounded TTU 44-21 including a 18-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for Australian forward Venky Jois (202-93, college: E.Washington) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. American guard Mandell Thomas (188-93, college: Fordham) accounted for 18 points and 4 steals for the winning side. Five TU/Rock players scored in double figures. TU/Rock's coach Gert Kullamae felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international forward Joonas Jarvelainen (202-90, agency: Octagon Europe) came up with 11 points and 7 rebounds and the former international Toomas Raadik (202-90, agency: Promotex) added 8 points and 6 rebounds respectively for TTU in the defeat. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for TU/Rock. They maintain first place with 14-2 record. Loser TTU dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. TU/Rock will meet Parnu (#4) on the road in the next round. TTU will play against BC Rakvere and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
