Regular Season Round 20: Visby - IK Eos 84-87

Date: February 1, 2017
Rather expected game when 9th ranked Visby Ladies (7-14) were edged at home by sixth ranked IK Eos (9-11) 87-84 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back winning two of next three quarters and won the game by 3 points. IK Eos outrebounded Visby Ladies 41-29 including 21 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American Vee Young (186-89, college: Martin Methodist) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 32 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import guard Antoinette Thompson (170-90, college: TCU) who added 20 points and 5 assists during the contest. Young is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Danielle McCray (185-93, college: Mississippi) responded with 26 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and Lithuanian guard Mante Kvederaviciute (180-90) scored 23 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted IK Eos maintains sixth position with 9-11 record. Loser Visby Ladies keep the ninth place with 14 games lost. IK Eos will face KFUM Ostersund (#7) on the road in the next round. Visby Ladies will play against the league's leader Udominate in Umea and hope to win that game.
