Peli-Karhut (9-10) survived in overtime against Forssan Alku (12-9) by two points 99-97 on Wednesday night. The game took place in Forssa. But the guests from Kotka were better at the end. The guests trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 28-24 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 2-point victory in overtime. Peli-Karhut looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Akilah Sims (178-94, college: IUPUI) who had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 14 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Peli-Karhut maintains sixth position with 9-10 record. Forssan Alku lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the third place with nine games lost. Peli-Karhut will face Espoo Team (#8) at home in the next round. Forssan Alku will play against Helmi Basket (#10) in Helsinki and hope to win that game.
