The most shocking disappointment of round 17 in the Euromillions League was a home defeat of 4th placed Kangoeroes (8-9) by fifth ranked Spirou Charleroi (9-8) who outscored them by 18 points 88-70. Spirou Charleroi made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. The former international guard Alexandre Libert (194-90, agency: Promotex) stepped up and scored 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and American guard D.J. Richardson (190-91, college: Illinois, agency: Inception Sports) chipped in 16 points. Four Spirou Charleroi players scored in double figures. Spirou Charleroi's coach Fulvio Bastianini used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Senegalese power forward Pape Badji (208-92) responded with 15 points and 8 rebounds and American point guard Wesley Channels (190-88, college: Austin Peay St.) scored 15 points and 4 assists. Spirou Charleroi moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Brussels. Kangoeroes at the other side dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost. They share it with Mons-Hainaut. Spirou Charleroi is looking forward to face Belfius Mons-Hainaut (#6) in Jemappes in the next round. Kangoeroes will play on the road against the league's leader Oostende and are hoping to win this game.
