Regular Season Round 17: Hapoel Eilat - Galil Gilboa 100-81

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Galil Gilboa (6-11) was crushed on the road by sixth ranked Hapoel Eilat (9-8) 100-81 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Hapoel Eilat. Galil Gilboa managed to win third quarter 26-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hapoel Eilat made 24-of-28 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Hapoel Eilat had a 25-14 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The game was also dominated by American players. Forward Landon Milbourne (201-87, college: Maryland) stepped up and scored 20 points and 4 assists for the winners and point guard Pierria Henry (193-93, college: Charlotte) chipped in 17 points and 6 assists. Jason Siggers (194-85, college: Albany) responded with 18 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals and forward Eric Griffin (203-90, college: Campbell) scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. Five Hapoel Eilat and four Galil Gilboa players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hapoel Eilat have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Hapoel T-A and Maccabi Rishon. Newly promoted Galil Gilboa keeps the tenth position with 11 games lost. Hapoel Eilat will meet Ironi Nahariya (#8) on the road in the next round. Galil Gilboa will play against Hapoel Tel-Aviv and hope to secure a win.
