Very expected game when 19th ranked Jekabpils II (3-8) was defeated at home by top-ranked Ventspils Augstskola (11-0) 80-65 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Ventspils Augstskola. Jekabpils II was better in second period 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Ventspils Augstskola won last quarter 28-15. They also forced 22 Jekabpils II turnovers. Belarusian power forward Denis Vikentsyeu (203-98) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Belarusian guard Vlad Mikulskiy (192-98) chipped in 25 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Reinis Avotins (202-98) produced 22 points and swingman Edijs Stiebrins (190-96) added 17 points respectively for lost side. Jekabpils II's coach Andris Cerjaks rotated eleven players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Ventspils Augstskola have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain thirteenth position with 11-0 record. Loser Jekabpils II keeps the nineteenth place with eight games lost.
