Very expected game in Helsinki where 9th ranked HBA-Marsky (5-13) was rolled over by third ranked ToPo (12-8) 98-76 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by ToPo. HBA-Marsky was better in second period 24-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. ToPo shot 24 for 32 from the free-throw line, while HBA-Marsky only scored eight points from the stripe. ToPo forced 19 HBA-Marsky turnovers and had a 32-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. HBA-Marsky was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was guard Emil Djeen (183-94, college: High School) who scored 19 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 7 steals. Forward Cedric Latimer (198-87, college: St.Francis, PA) chipped in 22 points and 5 rebounds. Four ToPo players scored in double figures. Point guard Lassi Nikkarinen (184-97) produced 17 points and 4 steals and point guard Edon Maxhuni (186-98) added 17 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted ToPo maintains third place in Division with 12-8 record having just two points less than leader TuNMKY. Loser HBA-Marsky keeps the ninth position with 13 games lost. ToPo will face Forssan Koripojat (#7) on the road in the next round. HBA-Marsky will play against Jyvaskyla BA and hope to win that game.
