Regular Season Round 21: St Vallier - ALS Basket 92-108

There was an upset when higher ranked Saint Vallier (11-10) was defeated at home by eleventh ranked ALS Basket (10-11) 108-92 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by ALS Basket. Saint Vallier was better in second period 27-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 27-of-29 free shots (93.1 percent) during the game. ALS Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Saint Vallier was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Perris Blackwell (205-91, college: Washington) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Point guard Jerrold Brooks (183-91, college: S.Mississippi, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 26 points and 9 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Five ALS Basket players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Omar Strong (175-90, college: Texas Southern) who recorded 33 points (!!!) and power forward Steffon Bradford (198-77, college: Nebraska) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. ALS Basket moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Saint Vallier keeps the seventh position with ten games lost. ALS Basket will face Union Rennes (#9) at home in the next round.
