Regular Season Round 22: Castello - Burgos 77-87

Very predictable result when fourth ranked Burgos (15-7) won against 13th ranked Castello (9-13) in Castellon 87-77 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Burgos. Castello was better in third quarter 25-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Castello was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for center Javier Vega (205-88) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 6 rebounds. Serbian center Goran Huskic (210-92, college: Howard Col., TX) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Five Burgos players scored in double figures. Guard Eduardo Duran (190-91, agency: Duran International) replied with 18 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Joan Faner (176-90) added 13 points and 7 assists in the effort for Castello. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Burgos moved-up to third place, which they share with Palencia. Castello lost third consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 13 games lost. Burgos will face league's second-placed Gipuzkoa in San Sebastian in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Castello will play on the road against Caceres Basket (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
