The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Kosice (22-5) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by eighth ranked Lucenec (12-15) 113-102. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Kosice. Lucenec made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Jervon Pressley (203-95, college: Hampton) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Serbian Strahinja Stojacic (197-92) contributed with 24 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Serbian guard Stefan Matovic (203-91) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international guard Milan Ziak (190-88) added 19 points and 4 assists in the effort for Kosice. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Lucenec maintains eighth place with 12-15 record. Kosice at the other side still keeps top position with five games lost. Lucenec are looking forward to face higher ranked Handlova (#6) in MBK Handlova in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kosice will play on the road against Levice (#4) and is hoping to win this game.
