Regular Season Round 21: Orchies - Vitre 78-73

There was no surprise in Orchies where 12th ranked Vitre (9-12) was defeated by sixth ranked Orchesien BC (12-9) 78-73 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Vitre was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Montenegrin power forward Zarko Rakocevic (204-84, agency: Mansfield and Associates) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Hugo Dumortier (195-93) chipped in 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Guillaume Merie (198-83) who recorded 18 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and swingman Maxence Claveau (194-94) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Five Orchesien BC and four Vitre players scored in double figures. Orchesien BC maintains sixth place with 12-9 record. Loser Vitre keeps the twelfth position with 12 games lost. Orchesien BC will face Angers BC (#15) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Vitre will play against Lorient and hope to win that game.
