Regular Season Round 16: Holargos - Iraklis 109-75

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Iraklis (13-3) against ninth ranked Holargos (7-8) on Saturday night. Visiting Iraklis was crushed by Holargos in Holargos 109-75. They shot 62.7 percent from the field and made 20-of-21 charity shots (95.2 percent) during the game. Holargos forced 19 Iraklis turnovers and outrebounded them 32-17 including a 26-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 57.7 percentage. Holargos players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Iraklis was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Serbian guard Igor Milosevic (193-86, agency: BeoBasket) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!) (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and Serbian-Hungarian guard Marko Popadic (189-89) who added 24 points and 6 assists (perfect from downtown making all five shots) during the contest. At the losing side guard Yannis Gagaloudis (192-78) responded with 18 points and 6 assists and Lithuanian Ronaldas Rutkauskas (203-92) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Holargos have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain ninth position with 7-8 record. Iraklis at the other side dropped to the third place with three games lost. Holargos will play against higher ranked AE Larissas (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Iraklis will play against Arkadikos and hopes to get back on the winning track.
