Regular Season Round 18: Azuqueca - Alcobendas 70-66

Very expected game when 9th ranked Alcobendas (8-9) lost on the road to fifth ranked Azuqueca (12-6) 70-66 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 18-10 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Azuqueca forced 19 Alcobendas turnovers. It was a good game for Serbian power forward Branislav Tomic (205-80) who led his team to a victory with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Carlos Calvo (178-94) contributed with 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Daniel Trachsel (202-94) replied with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Nicolas Bermudez (193-95) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Alcobendas. Four Alcobendas players scored in double figures. Alcobendas' coach Jose Antonio Ramirez tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Azuqueca have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position in Group B with 12-6 record. Alcobendas lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh place with nine games lost. Azuqueca will face league's second-placed La Roda on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Alcobendas will play against Real Madrid II (#4) and hope to win that game.
