There was no surprise in Aichi where 9th ranked Hitachi Cougars (2-3) were crushed by leader Toyota B SR (5-0) 80-48 on Saturday. The game without a history. Toyota B SR led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Hitachi Cougars to just 7 points in third quarter. Toyota B SR made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game, while Hitachi Cougars only scored one point from the stripe. They outrebounded Hitachi Cougars 58-39 including a 30-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. Toyota B SR looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Hitachi Cougars were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was center Eri Hatanaka (178-91) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Power forward Sakiko Nomachi (177-87) chipped in 21 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Yuki Kitamura (170-94) produced 12 points and Saki Matsumoto (176-94) added 8 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Toyota B SR. They maintain seventh place in Places 7-12 with 5-0 record. Loser Hitachi Cougars dropped to the tenth position with three games lost.
