Regular Season Round 36: Toshiba BT - Ryukyu GK 79-55

Not a big story in a game when 5th ranked Ryukyu GK (15-20) was outscored by first ranked Toshiba Thunders (30-5) in Kanagawa 79-55 on Saturday. The game without a history. Toshiba Thunders led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Ryukyu GK to just 6 points in second quarter. It was a good game for American forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 16 rebounds. Senegalese swingman Mamadou Diouf (197-77, college: Delaware) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Lamont Hamilton (208-84, college: St.John's) replied with 10 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) added 8 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Ryukyu GK. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Toshiba Thunders have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 30-5 record. Loser Ryukyu GK keeps the fifth place with 20 games lost. Toshiba Thunders will face again Ryukyu GK (#5) in Okinawa in the next round.
