Regular Season Round 12: Saitama Bron. - Otsuka A. 69-71

Seventh-ranked Saitama Broncos (5-17) used its home court advantage to challenge third ranked Otsuka A. (14-6) on Saturday. The visitors from Tokyo managed to secure only two-point victory 71-69. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 42-34 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Otsuka A. forced 19 Saitama Broncos turnovers. 26 personal fouls committed by Saitama Broncos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for forward Kyle Richardson (201-91, college: Portland St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 22 rebounds. Forward Ray Raymond (203-84, college: Wisconsin) contributed with 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Otsuka A.'s coach used entire bench in such tough game. Guard Brent Jennings (193-88, college: So.Poly State, agency: Interperformances) replied with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 10 rebounds and power forward Cyrus Tate (203-85, college: Iowa) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Saitama Broncos. Otsuka A. maintains third position with 14-6 record having eight points less than leader Fukuoka Rizing. Saitama Broncos lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 17 games lost. Otsuka A. are looking forward to face league's second-placed Kanazawa Sam. in Ishikawa in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Saitama Broncos will play on the road against Tokyo Cinq R. (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
