Regular Season Round 35: Fukushima - Tokyo Z 75-82

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when third ranked Tokyo Z (15-19) beat on the road second-ranked Fukushima (20-13) 82-75 on Saturday. Fukushima was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Tokyo Z made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Deon Jones (198-93, college: Monmouth) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds. Point guard Shota Watanabe (180-93) chipped in 17 points and 7 assists. American center Nigel Spikes (208-89, college: Marshall) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import guard Cedric Bozeman (198-83, college: UCLA) added 10 points respectively for the hosts. Four Fukushima players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Tokyo Z. They maintain third place with 15-19 record having eight points less than leader Gunma. Fukushima lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the second position with 13 games lost. Tokyo Z will have a break next round. Fukushima will play again at home against Tokyo Z and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
