Regular Season Round 17: Bologna - Stabia 58-34

Serie A2 top team - Bologna (15-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked Castellammare (5-11) 58-34. The game without a history. Bologna led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Castellammare to just 7 points in second quarter. Bologna held Castellammare to an opponent 23.9 percent shooting from the field compared to 39.7 percent accuracy of the winners. Bologna forced 21 Castellammare turnovers and outrebounded them 43-31 including 31 on the defensive glass. Point guard Chiara Mini (165-86) stepped up and scored 16 points for the winners and power forward Chiara Cadoni (182-94) chipped in 9 points and 10 rebounds. American-Irish forward Fiona O'Dwyer (178-99, college: Emmanuel, MA) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Sara Innocenti (170-92) scored 7 points and 4 steals. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bologna maintains first place in A2 with 15-1 record. Castellammare at the other side keeps the ninth position with 11 games lost. Bologna will play against Alpo VF (#7) in Verona in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Castellammare will play at home against Marghera and hopes to get back on the winning track.
