Regular Season Round 18: Calidus Gal.COB - Ponferrada CDP 76-68

There was no surprise when 7th ranked Ponferrada CDP (8-7) lost to fifth ranked Calidus Gal.COB (9-5) in Ourense 68-76 on Saturday. Ponferrada CDP trailed by 15 points after 3 quarters before a 27-20 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 68-76 at the end of the game. Calidus Gal.COB forced 24 Ponferrada CDP turnovers. It was a good game for forward Cristian Iglesias (198-94) who led his team to a victory with 7 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists. Georgian swingman Luka Bulashvili (192-98, agency: Dynamics Global Management) contributed with 22 points for the winners. Haitian-American forward James Cambronne (201-91, college: St.Michael's) replied with 16 points and 7 rebounds and Dominican guard Yohansy Minaya (185-91) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Ponferrada CDP. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ponferrada CDP's coach tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Calidus Gal.COB moved-up to fourth place in Group A-B, which they share with BVM 2012. Ponferrada CDP lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. Calidus Gal.COB will face league's second-placed Estudiantes L. in Lugo in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Ponferrada CDP will play at home against La Fecha (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
