Regular Season Round 12: Tokyo HT - Kanazawa Sam. 58-82

Date: February 4, 2017
An interesting game for Kanazawa Sam. (18-2) which played road game in Tokyo against 4th ranked Tokyo HT (13-9). Second ranked Kanazawa Sam. had an easy win 82-58. The game without a history. Kanazawa Sam. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Tokyo HT's 26 and made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. The winners were led by American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 rebounds and guard Ide Yuji (181-88) supported him with 18 points. Even a double-double of 24 points and 11 rebounds by American forward Brian Harper (206-84, college: Paine) did not help to save the game for Tokyo HT. His fellow American import power forward Edward Morris (204-84, college: Pittsburg St.) added 11 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kanazawa Sam. have an impressive 15-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 18-2 record having 2 victories less than leader Fukuoka Rizing. Loser Tokyo HT keeps the fourth place with nine games lost. Kanazawa Sam. will meet at home Otsuka A. (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Tokyo HT will play against the league's leader Fukuoka Rizing and hope to secure a win.
