Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Valencia (3-14) was defeated at home by third ranked C.Adelantados (13-5) 68-54 on Saturday. The game without a history. C.Adelantados led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Valencia to just 5 points in second quarter. They outrebounded Valencia 41-30 including 33 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was point guard Gema Garcia (165-85) who scored 23 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. American guard Tyonna Outland (173-92, college: CSU Bakersfield) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Esther Diaz produced 11 points and 7 assists and Serbian Branka Lukovic (190-95) added 8 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Valencia's coach tested ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for C.Adelantados. They maintain third place with 13-5 record having just one point less than leader Aros Leon. Newly promoted Valencia keeps the thirteenth position with 14 games lost. C.Adelantados will face Olimpico 64 (#14) in Madrid in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Valencia's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Valencia Picken Claret.
