Regular Season Round 12: Glanmire - Meteors 102-46

Leader Glanmire delivered the tenth victory. This time they crushed 9th ranked Meteors (2-9) 102-46 in Cork. Glanmire dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Meteors' 28. Glanmire forced 23 Meteors turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 37 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Meteors' players. It was a good game for the former international guard Claire Rockall (178-90, college: Iowa St.) who led her team to a victory with 17 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). International forward Casey Grace (182-92, college: Fairfield) contributed with 13 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Glanmire's coach felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aoife Whelan (182-96) replied with 20 points and 8 rebounds and center Ciara Flaherty (185-90) added 11 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Meteors. Defending champion maintains first position with 10-1 record. Meteors lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with nine games lost. Glanmire will play against league's second-placed Liffey Celtics in Kildare in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Meteors' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Dublin 11890 Killester.
