Regular Season Round 16: Dunkerque - Roannais 78-59

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both thirteenth ranked Dunkerque and 11th ranked Roannais had identical 4-11 record. This time Dunkerque used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from 78-59. The game was mostly controlled by Dunkerque. Roannais was better in second period 14-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Dunkerque dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Roannais' 30. Dunkerque forced 22 Roannais turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. It was a very good performance for forward Anais Viale (188-91) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds (made all of her nine free throws !!!). Latvian center Aija Brumermane (192-86) contributed with 16 points, 5 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Forward Amandine Toi (179-98) replied with 18 points and Laura Dimithe added 13 points in the effort for Roannais. Roannais' coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Dunkerque (5-11) moved-up to eleventh place. Newly promoted Roannais dropped to the twelfth position with 12 games lost. Dunkerque's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked CFBB (#14) in Paris. Roannais will play at home against Limoges and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
