A very interesting game took place in Cagliari. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 4th placed Orvieto (11-5) to thirteenth ranked Cagliari CUS (3-13) 55-53 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. Orvieto was ahead by 7 points after three quarters before a 18-9 charge of Cagliari CUS, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was Lithuanian Julita Bungaite (187-87, college: Hawaii, agency: Promotex) who scored 6 points and 17 rebounds. Power forward Elena Riccardi (187-82) chipped in 16 points. Guard Greta Brunelli (176-90) produced 10 points and 6 rebounds and forward Giulia Manzotti (176-93) added 11 points respectively for the guests. Cagliari CUS moved-up to twelfth place in A2. Orvieto at the other side dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. Cagliari CUS's next round opponent will be higher ranked San Salvatore (#9) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Orvieto will play against the league's leader Sesto SG (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
