Regular Season Round 18: Estudiantes L. - Innova Chef 70-64

Very expected game when 9th ranked Innova Chef (6-9) lost to third ranked Estudiantes L. (11-4) in Lugo 64-70 on Sunday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 26-17. But Innova Chef won second period 15-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Estudiantes L. forced 22 Innova Chef turnovers. It was a good game for Javier Beltran (198-97) who led his team to a victory with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Ivorian center Seydou Aboubacar (207-94) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Estudiantes L. players scored in double figures. American forward Dionte Adams (201-94, college: Hampton) replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 17 rebounds and guard Gabriel Roman (185-97) added 19 points and 5 steals (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) in the effort for Innova Chef. Estudiantes L. have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in Group A-B, which they share with Leon. Loser Innova Chef keeps the ninth position with nine games lost. Estudiantes L. will face Calidus Gal.COB (#5) in Ourense in the next round. Innova Chef will play on the road against Vigo VGO (#13) and hope to win that game.
