Regular Season Round 32: Shanghai S. - Qingdao E. 115-109

CBA top team - Shanghai Sharks (26-6) added another victory to their record on Sunday. This time they beat twelfth ranked Qingdao Eagles (15-17) 115-109. Shanghai Sharks made 32-of-39 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Shanghai Sharks made 8 blocks. 29 personal fouls committed by Qingdao Eagles helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American point guard Jimmer Fredette (188-89, college: BYU) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds (was perfect 13-for-13 from the free throw line !!!). French Guerschon Yabusele (201-95) contributed with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. American guard Dominique Jones (193-88, college: S.Florida) replied with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists and the former international center Wei Su (212-89) added 16 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Qingdao Eagles. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shanghai Sharks maintains first position with 26-6 record, which they share with Xinjiang FT. Qingdao Eagles at the other side keep the twelfth place with 17 games lost. Shanghai Sharks is looking forward to face Bayi Rockets (#19) in Ningbo in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Qingdao Eagles will play on the road against Fujian (#16) in Jinjiang and are hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
