Regular Season Round 18: Palma II - Mollet 64-72

An interesting game for Mollet (12-3) which played road game in S'Arenal against 4th ranked Palma II (9-6). Third ranked Mollet managed to get a 8-point victory 72-64. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Palma II. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 8 points. It was a good game for point guard Xavier Costa (192-84) who led his team to a victory with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Point guard Albert Ferrer (180-82) contributed with 14 points for the winners. Five Mollet players scored in double figures. Mollet's coach Alex Teres used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Power forward Carlos Poyatos (207-94) replied with 9 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists and center Carlos Bustamante (200-88) added 15 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Palma II. Mollet have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They keep a position of Group C-B leader, which they share with Pardinyes-L. and Quart. Newly promoted Palma II dropped to the fifth place with six games lost. Mollet will face Castelldefels (#12) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Palma II will play against Sant Adria (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
