Regular Season Round 18: JuveCaserta - Vanoli CR 79-75

Date: February 5, 2017
Very predictable result in Caserta where tenth ranked Juvecaserta (9-9) defeated bottom-ranked Vanoli Cremona (4-14) 79-75 on Sunday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 11 points after three quarters before their 33-18 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Vanoli Cremona was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Raphiael Putney (207-90, college: Massachusetts) scored 19 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and French Yakhouba Diawara (201-82, college: Pepperdine) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Five Juvecaserta players scored in double figures. Juvecaserta's coach Sandro Dell Agnello allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American point guard Darius Johnson-Odom (187-89, college: Marquette, agency: BeoBasket) with 27 points and naturalized Cameroonian center Paul Biligha (200-90, agency: Players Group) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Juvecaserta moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 4 other teams. Vanoli Cremona lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost. Juvecaserta will face The Flexx PT (#9) in Pistoia in the next round. Vanoli Cremona will play at home against Auxilium TO (#10) and hope to win that game.
