Regular Season Round 5: CLS Knights - Garuda 72-69

The most exciting game of round 5 in the IBL took place in Surabaya. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 4th placed Garuda (2-2) to third ranked CLS Knights (3-1) 72-69 on Sunday evening. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 72-69. The former international point guard Mario Wuysang (176-79) stepped up and scored 13 points and 8 assists for the winners and American forward Dechriston McKinney (203-92, college: Arkansas Tech) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds. CLS Knights' coach used entire bench in such tough game. American center Chris Ware (203-89, college: Indiana Tech) responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 16 rebounds and 5 blocks and the other American import guard Sherrard Brantley (188-90, college: Georgia) scored 19 points. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Aspac. Garuda at the other side dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. They share it with NSH GMC. CLS Knights is looking forward to face Bima Perkasa (#8) in Sakti in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Garuda will have a break next round.
