Regular Season Round 21: Fjolnir - Armann 123-73

Bottom-ranked Armann is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their 19th consecutive match to second ranked Fjolnir (15-4) 123-73 on Sunday evening. The game without a history. Fjolnir led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Armann's 44 and made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. Fjolnir forced 26 Armann turnovers and outrebounded them 41-26 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American Marques Oliver (201-91, college: Delaware St.) nailed 29 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) for the winning side and guard Robert Sigurdsson (187-94) accounted for 17 points and 7 assists. Five Fjolnir players scored in double figures. Grimkelli Sigurthorsson (-97) came up with 12 points and guard Magnus Hjalmarsson (184) added 11 points respectively for Armann in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Fjolnir maintains second place with 15-4 record having just one point less than leader Hottur. Armann lost their nineteenth game in a row. They still close the standings. Fjolnir's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Reykjavik to the arena Valur.
