Regular Season Round 17: Rahoveci - Ylli 69-70

The most exciting game of round 17 in the SuperLeague took place in Theranda. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 6th ranked Rahoveci (6-9) to fifth ranked Ylli (8-8) 70-69 in the game for the fifth place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Rahoveci. The guests trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 14-12 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Ylli forced 19 Rahoveci turnovers. American forward Chris Olivier (203-92, college: Oklahoma St.) saved the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Center Ergin Grosha (211-93) contributed with 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Center Besnik Sharku (203-89) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Muhamed Hasani (191-88, college: Rutgers) added 14 points and 10 assists in the effort for Rahoveci. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ylli maintains fifth place with 8-8 record. Newly promoted Rahoveci keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. Ylli are looking forward to face league's second-placed Bashkimi in Prizren in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Rahoveci will play on the road against Trepca (#4) in Mitrovice and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
