Very predictable result when tenth ranked Giulianova (7-11) won against at home 15th ranked Monteroni (3-16) 71-59 on Sunday. Giulianova forced 25 Monteroni turnovers. Strangely Monteroni outrebounded Giulianova 38-25 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Quite impressive performance for point guard Simone Colonnelli (185-91) who helped to win the game recording 20 points. Center Riccardo Rosa (-96) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Simone Zanotti (208-92) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and Bosnian point guard Amar Balic (178-96) added 13 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Monteroni. Giulianova maintains tenth place in B with 7-11 record. Loser Monteroni keeps the fifteenth position with 16 games lost. Giulianova will face higher ranked Porto S.Elpidio (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Monteroni will play against San Severo (#4) and hope to win that game.
