There was no surprise when 14th ranked Viola RC (6-14) was crushed on the road by seventh ranked Agrigento (12-8) 90-58 on Sunday. Agrigento made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Agrigento had a 30-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American swingman Perrin Buford (198-94, college: Middle Tenn.St.) who scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Naturalized Argentinian forward Albano Chiarastella (199-85, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds. Four Agrigento players scored in double figures. Power forward Patrick Baldassarre (200-86, agency: Players Group) produced 21 points and 5 rebounds and Croatian power forward Ivica Radic (208-90, agency: XL Basketball Agency) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Agrigento moved-up to fifth place in A2. Loser Viola RC keeps the fourteenth position with 14 games lost. Agrigento will face Mens Sana 1871 (#8) in Siena in the next round. Viola RC will play at home against Novipiu Casale (#11) and hope to win that game.
