Regular Season Round 24: Union SF - Independiente BBC 105-88

No shocking result in a game when first ranked Union SF (18-5) beat 5th ranked Independiente BBC (7-17) in Santa Fe 105-88 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Union SF. Independiente BBC was better in third quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Union SF looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. It was a good game for forward Patricio Tabarez (195-91) who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 8 rebounds. Swingman Bruno Barovero (194-90) contributed with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Four Union SF players scored in double figures. Union SF's coach Daniel Beltramo used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Center Julian Aprea (209-87) replied with 23 points and 5 rebounds and guard Matias Martinez (178-94) added 20 points in the effort for Independiente BBC. Union SF have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 18-5 record, which they share with Comunicaciones. Newly promoted Independiente BBC keeps the fifth place with 17 games lost. Union SF will face Sportivo (#6) in Las Parejas in the next round where they are favorite. Independiente BBC will play at home against Salta Basket and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
