Rather expected game in Parana where 10th ranked Echague (5-26) was defeated by eighth ranked La Union (14-16) 94-89 on Monday. The game without a history. La Union led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American-Jamaican center Torin Francis (210-83, college: Notre Dame) fired a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Forward Facundo Pinero (200-88) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. Five La Union players scored in double figures. Dominican guard Gelvis Solano (185-94, college: Merrimack, agency: Basket Management Solutions) produced 33 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 5 assists and Panamanian forward Josimar Ayarza (205-87, college: S.Mississippi) added 17 points respectively for lost side. La Union moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Argentino. Echague lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with 26 games lost. La Union will face Libertad Sunchales (#7) on the road in the next round.
