Regular Season Round 9: Pinar del Rio - Capitalinas 22-63

Liga Superior top team - Capitalinas (7-3) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Pinar (2-8) in Rio 63-22. The game without a history. Capitalinas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They held Pinar to an opponent 20.9 percent shooting from the field compared to 39.3 percent accuracy of the winners. Swingman Yaiset Fragela (172-96) nailed 10 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Anilegna Colas-Ortega (163-95) accounted for 13 points and 10 steals. Point guard Beatriz Gonzalez (171-94) came up with 6 points and international Anisleidys Galindo (181-89) added 6 points respectively for Pinar in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Capitalinas maintains first place with 7-3 record. Defending champion Pinar stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. Capitalinas will play against Camaguey (#4) at home in the next round. Pinar will play against the league's second-placed Guantanamo and hopes to get back on the winning track.
