Regular Season Round 16: Hapoel Z/MM - Maccabi Ashdod 51-78

Very expected game when 9th ranked Hapoel Z/MM (3-11) was crushed at home by second ranked Maccabi Ashdod (12-2) 78-51 on Monday. Maccabi Ashdod dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Hapoel Z/MM's 26. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American power forward Bashaara Graves (188-94, college: Tennessee) fired 17 points for the winners. The former international Katia Levitsky (190-85, college: Villanova) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. Four Maccabi Ashdod players scored in double figures. American swingman Alex Harden (180-93, college: Wichita St.) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and her fellow American import center Britany Miller (192-87, college: Florida St., agency: Josep and Nicolas) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains second position with 12-2 record behind leader Maccabi R.Gan. Newly promoted Hapoel Z/MM stay at the bottom place with 11 games lost. Maccabi Ashdod will meet at home Ramat Hasharon (#4) in the next round. Hapoel Z/MM will play against Elitzur Holon (#6) and hope to secure a win.
