Regular Season Round 18: Maccabi K/G - Bnei Hertzeliyya 79-80

Twelfth-ranked Maccabi K/G (3-15) used its home court advantage to challenge fourth ranked Bnei Hasharon (11-6) in Kiryat Gat on Monday. The visitors from Hod Hasharon managed to secure only one-point victory 80-79. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 21-19 charge, which allowed them to win the game. American-Georgian point guard Taurean Green (183-85, college: Florida) notched 19 points and 5 assists to lead the effort and international forward Karam Mashour (198-91, college: Morehead St., agency: Three Eye Sports) supported him with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Even 30 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks by American forward Brandon Bowman (206-84, college: Georgetown) did not help to save the game for Maccabi K/G. The former international forward Or Solomon (202-93) added 16 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bnei Hasharon maintains fourth position with 11-6 record. Maccabi K/G lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 15 games lost. Bnei Hasharon will meet at home Galil Gilboa (#10) in the next round where they are favorite. Maccabi K/G will play against Maccabi T-A and hope to secure a win.
