No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked Maccabi Haifa (8-10) beat on the road 11th ranked Maccabi Ashdod (5-13) 72-59 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Maccabi Haifa. Maccabi Ashdod was better in second period 21-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Maccabi Haifa forced 22 Maccabi Ashdod turnovers. Maccabi Haifa moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Ironi Nahariya. Maccabi Ashdod lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Maccabi Haifa will face league's leader Hapoel Jerusalem at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Maccabi Ashdod will play against Maccabi Rishon (#7) in Rishon Le-Zion and hope to win that game.
