There was no surprise in Santiado Estero where 9th ranked Boca Juniors (8-23) was defeated by sixth ranked Quimsa (15-14) 94-76 on Monday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 13-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 94-76. It was a great shooting night for Quimsa especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. American forward Jazwin Cowan (203-83, college: Hampton, agency: DTMones) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. His fellow American import Aaron Harper (203-81, college: Mississippi) chipped in 19 points. Cowan is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Lucas Gargallo (196-95) produced 22 points and 4 assists and Greek Fotios Lampropoulos (206-83) added 11 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Quimsa and four Boca Juniors players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Quimsa maintains sixth place with 15-14 record. Boca Juniors lost their sixth game in a row. They dropped to the tenth position with 23 games lost. Quimsa will face Argentino (#6) in Junin in the next round. Boca Juniors will play at home against the league's second-placed Estudiantes C. (#2) and hope to win that game.
