Regular Season Round 17: Basket Gdynia - Sleza Wroclaw 68-77

TBLK top team - Sleza Wroclaw (14-3) managed to deliver another win on Monday. This time they beat eighth ranked Basket Gdynia (6-11) 77-68. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Agnieszka Kaczmarczyk (188-89) who scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. American power forward Nikki Greene (193-90, college: Penn St.) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. Sleza Wroclaw's coach Grzegorz Krzak used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American point guard Renee Montgomery (170-86, college: Connecticut, agency: LBM Management) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points, 9 rebounds and 11 assists and the other American import center Carolyn Swords (198-89, college: Boston Coll., agency: LBM Management) added 19 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sleza Wroclaw have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 14-3 record. Basket Gdynia at the other side keeps the eighth position with 11 games lost. They share it with JAS FBG. Sleza Wroclaw will meet at home bottom-ranked TS Ostrovia (#12) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Basket Gdynia will play against MKK Siedlce (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
