Regular Season Round 16: Maccabi R.Gan - Maccabi Raanana 93-52

D1 top team - Maccabi Ramat Gan (13-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Maccabi Raanana (4-9) in Ramat Hen 93-52. Maccabi Ramat Gan dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Maccabi Raanana's 30. They outrebounded Maccabi Raanana 44-29 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Maccabi Ramat Gan players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Maccabi Raanana's players. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. The winners were led by point guard Chelsea Hopkins (173-90, college: San Diego St.) who scored that evening 16 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals and center Danielle Adams (185-89, college: Texas A&M) supported her with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Five Maccabi Ramat Gan players scored in double figures. Even 13 points and 8 rebounds by power forward Karisma Penn (188-91, college: Illinois) did not help to save the game for Maccabi Raanana. Forward Jada Payne (188-93, college: E.Carolina, agency: LBM Management) added 11 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Maccabi Raanana's coach Liron Sherf gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Maccabi Ramat Gan have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 13-2 record. Newly promoted Maccabi Raanana dropped to the seventh place with nine games lost. Maccabi Ramat Gan will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Maccabi Raanana will play at home against Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
