The game in Rio was also quite interesting. Second ranked Guantanamo (6-4) played at the court of 6th ranked Pinar (2-8). Guantanamo defeated Pinar 42-29 on Tuesday. The game without a history. Guantanamo led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Pinar to just 5 points in third quarter and to 13 points in second half. Point guard Yilian Renda (165-88) scored 9 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Yaianni Montero (156-96) chipped in 12 points during the contest. At the losing side guard Yusleidys Miranda (173-96) responded with 6 points and Iris Argudin (-91) scored 7 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guantanamo maintains second position with 6-4 record behind leader Capitalinas. Defending champion Pinar stay at the bottom place with eight games lost.
