Regular Season Round 19: Vasco Da G. - Macae 77-76

Fourteenth-ranked Macae (3-15) made lots of trouble for ninth ranked Vasco Da G. (10-8) in Rio de Janeiro on Tuesday. Vasco Da G. managed to secure only one-point victory 77-76. However their fans expected much easier game. It was a great evening for American guard David Jackson (195-82, college: Penn St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 5 rebounds. Gaucho Zilmer (197-86) helped adding 14 points. Vasco Da G.'s coach Dede Barbosa used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American point guard Kendall Anthony (173-93, college: Richmond) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 assists and Erick Camilo (203-92) scored 16 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Vasco Da G. maintains ninth place with 10-8 record. Macae lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with 15 games lost. They share it with Caxias do Sul. Vasco Da G. will meet higher ranked Campo Mourao (#8) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Macae will play against Campo Mourao (#8) and hope to secure a win.
