Another interesting game was again a derby between two local teams from Doha: El Jaysh (#1) and Qatar Sports Club (#5). Qatar Sports Club was smashed at home by 56 points 58-114 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The game was mostly controlled by El Jaysh. Qatar Sports Club managed to win fourth quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. El Jaysh dominated down low during the game scoring 84 of its points in the paint compared to Qatar Sports Club's 26. El Jaysh forced 21 Qatar Sports Club turnovers and outrebounded them 54-22 including a 18-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. El Jaysh looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Qatar Sports Club's players. American power forward Vernon Macklin (208-86, college: Florida) scored 22 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international center Mohd Mohamed-Yousef (204-82) chipped in 13 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Four El Jaysh players scored in double figures. Coach 's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Quinton Doggett (206-90, college: Southern) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds and international Abdulrahman Jamal scored 16 points and 4 assists. El Jaysh (14-0) have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 14 victories in a row. Loser Qatar Sports Club keeps the fifth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Al Ahli. El Jaysh's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Doha Al Ahli.
