Regular Season Round 22: Caen - SAP Vaucluse 87-70

Very expected game when 12th ranked SAP Vaucluse (9-13) lost on the road to third ranked Caen (16-6) 87-70. The game was mostly controlled by Caen. SAP Vaucluse was better in second period 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Caen players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by SAP Vaucluse's players. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. American-Cape Verdean swingman BJ Monteiro (196-90, college: Duquesne) had a double-double by scoring 12 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists to lead the charge for the winners and center Moustapha Diarra (204-87, college: USF) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American point guard Deremy Geiger (180-90, college: Idaho, agency: Blacktop Management) responded with 18 points and 5 rebounds and Lithuanian forward Darius Tarvydas (200-91) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Caen have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Souffel. SAP Vaucluse at the other side dropped to the thirteenth position with 13 games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Caen will play against Saint Vallier (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. SAP Vaucluse will play against UB Chartres (#10) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
