Regular Season Round 18: Macc.Rehovot - Maccabi H/H 84-80

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Maccabi Rehovot and 7th ranked Hasharon had identical 9-8 record. This time Maccabi Rehovot used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Hod Hasharon 84-80. It was a good game for American forward Evan Yates (198-91, college: Ashland) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Swingman Gur Porat (197-79) contributed with 15 points and 5 assists for the winners. Yates is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American guard Vernon Teel (193-87, college: Loyola Mary) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and his fellow American import Storm Warren (201-88, college: LSU, agency: Octagon Europe) added 19 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Hasharon. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Maccabi Rehovot maintains sixth position with 10-8 record, which they share with Ironi K-A. Hasharon at the other side dropped to the eighth place with nine games lost. Maccabi Rehovot's next round opponent will be Hap.Haifa (#11) on the road where they are favorite. Hasharon will play against Hap.R/G Givat. and hope to win that game.
